Syria's government forces have liberated a strategic village that was under the control of the Daesh Takfiri terrorists in Homs Province.

The head of the UK-based so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdel Rahman, confirmed on Wednesday that the Syrian army troops had regained control over the village of Hadath in the southeastern countryside of Homs.

The village is located about 30 kilometers (19 miles) east of the highway linking the Syrian capital, Damascus, and the provincial capital, Homs.

Syria's state television said that the government forces were successfully advancing toward the nearby villages of Hawareen, Maheen, and Qarayatain, which were seized by Daesh terrorists in August.

Syrian forces have recently been making rapid advances against terrorists in several parts of the country.

The advances of the Syrian government forces against militants of Daesh and other terrorist groups have been expedited by the air cover provided by Russia, which began on September 30.

More than 250,000 people have been killed and hundreds of thousands displaced by the foreign-backed crisis in Syria since March 2011.
