Attacks by foreign-sponsored militants in Syria have killed at least nine people in and around the country's capital, Damascus, a UK-based monitoring group says.
Among the fatalities in the attacks, which were carried out on Wednesday, were five women, who lost their lives when Takfiri terrorists launched an offensive on Arnous Garden, an area in the heart of the capital, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Wednesday.
Two rockets fired by militants also struck Eastern Ghouta, leaving 13 people injured, according to the Syrian Arab News Agancey (SANA).
SANA reported that rockets also hit the capital's neighborhood of al-Mezzeh, as well as Masaken Barzeh, al-Mazra'a, Jahez Park and Harasta on Tuesday, killing one civilian and injuring 12 others.
Meanwhile, foreign-backed terrorists have laid siege to a Druze village on Syria's Golan Heights. The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the terrorists surrounded the village of Hader following fierce clashes with government forces.
The UK-based body says the terrorists are now in control of a strategic hilltop north of the village. The Druze community has been the target of al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front for some time now.
Also on Tuesday, seven civilians, including four children, were killed in renewed rebel rocket fire on the government-held areas of Aleppo in northern Syria, the Observatory said.
Foreign-backed Takfiri militants have frequently carried out bomb attacks and launched mortar as well as rocket rounds across Syrian cities and towns since the conflict broke out in the Arab country more than four years ago.
The ongoing crisis in the Middle Eastern country has reportedly claimed the lives of more than 230,000 people, including almost 11,500 children, since March 2011 up until now.
