On February 15, the Foreign Ministry Mansion hosted a presentation of the second edition of the collection titled Crimea in Russia's Development: History, Politics, Diplomacy. Documents from the Foreign Ministry Archives. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov attended the event. This volume, published with a new design, as well as new and improved illustrations, has been released to mark the tenth anniversary of Crimea's reunification with Russia, a significant milestone in our recent history.
Compiled by the ministry's Department of History and Records, the book includes unique documents from the Foreign Ministry archives that shed light on Taurida's heroic past. The presented treaties, declarations, diplomatic messages, letters and telegrams demonstrate the unbreakable bond linking Crimea's destiny to Russia and offer a detailed insight into the events that took place along our homeland's southern frontier between the signing of the Treaty of Constantinople in 1700 and the establishment of the Soviet rule in 1922.
Representatives of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Council of Minister of the Republic of Crimea, the Foreign Ministry and the academic community took part in the presentation.
The participants enjoyed a documentary exhibition and watched a video chronicling the events of the spring of 2014.
