On June 5, First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov chaired a regional meeting of the Russian ambassadors to the United Kingdom, Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Estonia.

The participants discussed in detail the status of Russia's relations with the said states and determined priorities for Russian diplomatic and consular missions in implementing the provisions of the updated Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation.

They stated that the hostile anti-Russia line of these states has destroyed all contacts and practical results of the multilateral dialogue that had accumulated over decades of mutually beneficial cooperation. Finland's accession to NATO and Sweden's upcoming accession are seriously changing the military-political situation in the Baltic Sea and the North of Europe in general by projecting tensions and conflict potential into this part of Europe.

The participants noted that the anti-Russia steps by unfriendly countries that have adopted a course towards confrontation with us would inevitably trigger response measures.

They emphasised that discrimination against Russia in regional cooperation formats in the North of Europe and the Arctic is leading to the disintegration of regional organisations due to the West's fault, which is fraught with negative consequences for the entire region.

Considering new policy goals, the ambassadors discussed ways to reformat Russian foreign offices and their activities to promote Russia's interests.

During their meeting with the leaders of the St Petersburg government, the ambassadors noted the city's tangible role in developing mutually advantageous cooperation in the new areas of international and foreign economic activities and the importance of preserving the St Petersburg cluster's potential in the Baltic Region.
