Question: Westerners are claiming that today our big delegation is here to draw Belarus into the special military operation.
Sergey Lavrov: When Westerners meet every other day in Brussels, Paris and The Hague or go to bow down to Washington, what are they doing? They are mobilising their ranks. We understand that the Americans get a little concerned when Europeans begin to scatter. At any rate, such attitudes are becoming more common. Many reasonable political actors in Europe are coming to realise that it was not worth it. With these sanctions, Europe is plunging itself into de-industrialisation. This is a boon for the United States that is strengthening its position despite European pleading, and economically sinking Europe.
Officials in the French government, the Economy Minister for one, long ago described as unacceptable a situation where the energy available for industry is four times cheaper in the US than in Europe and when a law is adopted to encourage investment flight from Europe to America
I do not see anything bad in a situation where the conspiratorial West considers every meeting of the Russian and Belarusian leaders as a step towards strengthening our alliance.
Today, our agenda is focused on the economy. We must decide how to develop it without relying on our former Western partners that have completely discredited themselves. This is the main point.
Question: The head of the Russian House company in the CAR was the target of a terror attack. Are Russians being hunted now?
Sergey Lavrov: I do not think it is part of the global hunt. It is indeed an outrageous act of terror. The CAR instantly assured us that they will investigate it. They have already started this investigation and our special representatives will take part in it.
