Russia's Western Military District Gets 2,500 Modern Communication Systems

The modern stations and systems ensure a high level of noise immunity and imitation protection and enable rapid data transmission.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia's Western Military District troops received over 2,500 modern communication and control systems in 2015, a district spokesman said Tuesday.
'The Western Military District signal troops received over 2,500 units of modern digital stations as well as control and operational and tactical data transfer systems from the Russian defense industry in 2015. It includes digital telecommunications system Redut-2US, Kushetka command vehicles based on BTR-80 and all-terrain Kamaz drive vehicles,' Col. Oleg Kochetkov said.
The modern stations and systems ensure a high level of noise immunity and imitation protection. The equipment enables rapid data transmission networks using various topologies.
New communication technology allows troops to perform training and combat tasks in a unified system of tactical control, as well as to transmit large amounts of audiovisual information over secure communication channels, the spokesman said.
Western Military District signal troops began exercises using the new equipment in permanent deployment as well as field training and tactical drills, Kochetkov said.
