Iran's 4th naval zone hosts Russian naval fleet
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, August 9, IRNA -- A Russian naval fleet comprised of two warships entered Iranian territorial waters on Sunday and docked at the fourth naval zone of the Iranian Navy, according to Public Relations Department of the Navy.
The expedition of Russian naval fleet aims to strengthen cordial relations between Iran and Russia, underlining that Caspian Sea has to remain the sea of peace and friendship.
The Russian fleet is due to stay in the Iranian territorial waters for three days.
This is the third time that a Russian Navy fleet is ferrying to Iranian territorial waters.
Earlier in 2007 and 2014, two other Russian Navy fleets carried such expeditions to Iranian waters to bolster Tehran-Moscow friendly ties.
Meanwhile, in 2013, an Iranian Navy fleet ferried to Russia's territorial waters and docked at Astrakhan Port.
