Three killed in ammo blast at military base in central Russia

MOSCOW, April 6 (RIA Novosti) - Three people were killed and one injured on Wednesday in an explosion at a military base in central Russia, a Defense Ministry spokesman said.
Col. Igor Konashenkov said the blast occurred at an ammunition storage and disposal depot in the Lipetsk region, about 450 km southeast of Moscow.
It was previously reported that the explosion was caused by the spontaneous ignition of a 40-kg powder container at a missile and artillery base 15-20 km from the regional capital, Lipetsk.
