Good afternoon. Let me start today's briefing.
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Jina will hold the ninth Korea-Mongolia Joint Committee Meeting with Chief Cabinet Secretary of the Government of Mongolia Sandag Byambatsogt in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on November 19.
Mongolia, with which this year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, is one of Korea's Strategic Partners. One of the world's top ten resource-rich countries, Mongolia is also Korea's important cooperative partner for economic security.
During the forthcoming Joint Committee Meeting, Vice Minister Kim, together with her Mongolian counterpart, will discuss diverse areas of mutual interest, including substantive bilateral cooperation in economy, public healthcare, environment and development, among others.
Given the recent increase in the number of Korean visitors to Mongolia, the Vice Minister will request the Mongolian side's full support for the safety of the Korean residents in and visitors to Mongolia.
She will also explain the Korean government's approach toward North Korea and ask for the Mongolian side's cooperation for peace and stability in the region.
