KCNA Commentary Denounces Hoguk War Maneuvers in S. Korea
Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)
Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- The south Korean group of traitors started large-scale Hoguk war exercise across south Korea on Oct. 25.
Drills are now under way under the simulated conditions of mounting a preemptive attack on the areas of the DPRK according to the carefully worked out scenario for invading the north. Involved in them are more than 240,000 troops including U.S. forces in south Korea and the three services of the south Korean puppet army.
The exercise includes drills for implementing an army corps-level operation scenario, joint anti-aircraft and joint drill for air formation assault to cope with threat of large-scale aerial attack, integrated defense drill and joint landing drill. The air force of south Korea is expected to make at least 700 sorties and more than 60 warships are expected to operate during the exercise.
The madcap Hoguk exercise being staged in the sky, land and seas in a three-dimensional manner is nothing but the last-ditch saber-rattling of the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors at death's door.
The Lee group finding itself in an abyss of ruin in the last period of its office is seeking a way out in war drumbeat.
Before the kick-off of the war exercise Lee incited extreme hostility and war hysteria against fellow countrymen in the north while brass hats vied with each other to tour forefront to stoke war fever.
The south Korean warmongers are now escalating reckless provocations against the DPRK under a premeditated plan, backed by the U.S.
The U.S. and the south Korean military held a military confab called the annual security council meeting in Washington recently at which they adopted a joint statement calling for rounding off the plans for preemptive attack on the north through a series of joint military exercises.
The touch-and-go situation is prevailing on the Korean Peninsula in which even a small conflict may spill over to an all-out war any time owing to the U.S.-south Korea tightened military nexus and their escalating moves for a war.
What merits a serious attention is that they are staging the Hoguk exercise on an unprecedentedly large scale on the premise of preemptive attack on the DPRK at a time when the north-south relations have been pushed to the lowest ebb.
The situation on the peninsula remains tenser than any other regions of the world due to the Lee group's desperate military provocations and saber-rattling.
All Koreans will never pardon the Lee Myung Bak group of confrontation maniacs as they will suffer a lot due to its last-ditch efforts.
