Pak forces kill 15 Taliban militants

Islamabad, Feb 23, IRNA -- Pakistani security forces have killed 15 suspected Taliban militants in a country's tribal area, state television reported Thursday.
Military helicopters also took part in the early morning operation in Upper Orakzai tribal region, a stronghold of the militants.
The security forces shelled hideouts of the militants and destroyed four bases in remote areas. Seven militants were also injured, said the report.
There was no independent confirmation of the report as journalists have no access to the area.
There was also no report of the casualties of the security forces.
Reports also said that two people were killed when a house in Orakzai agency was attacked by four rockets Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, two security personnel and an ordinary person were killed by unknown gunmen in Pakistan’s Abbottabad district, police said Thursday.
The attack occurred late Wednesday when two security men riding a motorbike were ambushed by some unknown gunmen in Abbottabad, mealy 100 kilometers northeast of Islamabad.
The gunmen fled the scene after the attack. The forces launched a search operation but no one was arrested. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
