8 security personal killed in Kurram tribal region

Islamabad, Feb 3, IRNA -- Eight security personnel were killed while five others were kidnapped by the militants, in Pakistan’s Kurram tribal region on Friday, local media reported.
According to reports militants attacked a check post in Kurram agency near Pak-Afghan border and killed eight troops while abducted five others.
The attack triggered clashes in which 18 militants were also killed, a military official said.
Meanwhile, one man was killed and two others sustained injuries in a blast that occurred in Bara area of Khyber Agency on Friday.
Security forces cordoned off the area after the attack and started search for attackers.
Intermittent firing continued between security forces and militants in the area.
One militant was reportedly killed and three were wounded in the exchange of firing between both sides.
Reports say more than 2,000 families have migrated from the area to the safer places. Panic gripped the residents after the attack.
