Pakistan Taliban publicly shoot dead 'murderer'

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Islamabad, June 9, IRNA -- Pakistani Taliban Tuesday publicly shot dead a man for allegedly killing two brothers in North Waziristan tribal region, locals said.

Waheed, 25, was killed by Taliban group led by Hafiz Gul Bahadar in a ground at Miranshah, the center of North Waziristan in the presence of hundreds of people, they said.

Waheed was brought to the ground blind-folded and his hands were tied.

A local official said that the body was thrown later near Miranshah with a note which said that Waheed was killed over the charges of killing two brothers. It said that the Taliban "Shura" or council had announced death penalty for Waheed.

Locals said that Waheed had shot dead two brothers – Waheed Zeb and Alam Zreb -- in Miranshah Bazar some 25 days ago over a minor dispute. Both victims were students of Miranshah Degree College.

Taliban had arrested Waheed after the incident and had taken him to an unknown destination.

Last year, the Taliban group, which controls North Waziristan, had also publicly executed several people for their alleged involvement in murders and robberies.
