Pakistani Police Arrest Suspected Foreign Militants
June 08, 2010
LAHORE, Pakistan -- Pakistani police said they have arrested 12 wounded foreigners who they suspect are militants, RFE/RL's Radio Mashaal reports.
The arrests took place at a residence in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore.
Police sources said 10 of the arrested are Afghan nationals, while the remaining two are Arabs.
Police spokesman Umar Wirk said on June 7 that the men had been in Lahore for 15 days. They were apparently being treated for bullet wounds.
It was not immediately known if any of those arrested were high-profile suspects.
