Pakistan has deployed regular army and Frontier Corps personnel along the unfrequented routes leading to Afghanistan's Kunar province, sealing the two countries' joint border.
Media reports said on Monday that the measure had been taken to check infiltration of terrorists into the tribal agency from across the border.
This is the first time that regular troops have been deployed in areas falling in the jurisdiction of Mamond subdivision, the reports maintained.
The Pak-Afghan border has been witnessing infiltrations and Islamabad and Kabul have also exchanged accusations in this context.
Pakistan says it has already deployed around 80,000 security forces along the porous 2400-kilometer border.
It is said that remnants of Al-Qaeda and Taliban had taken shelter in tribal areas on both sides of the border following the fall of the Taliban regime in Kabul and later indulged in subversive activities.
