Pakistan cabinet on Wednesday approved a plan to purchase the latest version of fighter F-16 planes and to materialize the purchase of ABS F-16s besides procurement of FC-10 Hi-tech Fighter Aircraft from China.
The Pakistan Air Force had presented a summery for the purchases, the Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told reporters.
The Federal Cabinet, which met on Wednesday, expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic incident and loss of human lives in Karachi yesterday.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz who presided over the meeting said elements behind the incident are the enemies of humanity and they will be dealt with an iron hand.
He said it is heinous conspiracy which was aimed to damage the image of Pakistan and Islam, but the government with the help of people will foil these designs.
The Prime Minister appealed to the clerics to urge the people for showing patience and harmony and do not allow those elements who want to sabotage law and order.
He said the Sindh government has been directed to provide best treatment facilities to the injured and take immediate measures for the arrest of the culprits.
Mr. Shaukat Aziz said government will leave no stone unturned for early arrest of the culprits and bring them to justice.
Briefing newsmen about the deliberations of the Cabinet, Information and Broadcasting Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said that the Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Sherpao briefed the cabinet about the law and order situation in Karachi.
