Pakistan says 40 miscreants, 3 soldiers die in clashes
Islamabad, April 6,IRNA - Authorities of Pakistan's tribal region said on Thursday that 40 miscreants were killed in clashes took place between the miscreants and security forces in two different areas of North Waziristan Agency on Wednesday.
Three personnel of law enforcement agencies were killed, a spokesman of the Governor's Secretariat said in a statement while providing details about the incidents.
The clashes started when the miscreants attacked the Datta Khel Fort on the night of April 4 at about 11 p.m., with missiles, injuring two security men.
The miscreants later at about 03.10 am on 5th April attacked the Shahdghali Post near Shawal, the spokesman said.
The security forces retaliated and the exchange of firing continued till 5 a.m., during which three soldiers of the security forces were killed whereas about 40 miscreants were killed and 19 arrested, the statement said.
A total of 8 bodies of the killed miscreants were also taken in to custody by the security forces and those arrested belong to different areas of South and North Waziristan Agencies, he said.
Initial information gathered form the arrested miscreants revealed that the miscreants had come from South Waziristan Agency in three trucks and two pick up vehicles.
