Two Israeli reserve pilots have been killed in helicopter crash during an overnight training exercise in the southern occupied Palestinian lands.
The incident took place at about 1 a.m. local time on Tuesday when the Bell AH-1 attack helicopter fell down for unknown reasons.
"The two crew members were experienced veteran reservists that had been training for years to stay prepared for combat," a senior Israeli air force officer said.
The officer said the flight mission was routine and that the helicopter was on its way back to the Palmahim air force base.
An investigation has been launched to probe the cause of the crash.
In September 2008, two Israeli pilots were killed in helicopter crash in training exercise following a technical malfunction.
