The United Nations says the number of Iraqis killed in acts of terrorism and violence across the country reached 761 last month.
In a statement, the UN said most casualties were civilian -- 685 -- including 131 civilian police officers. A further 76 members of the Iraqi security forces were killed.
A total of 1,771 Iraqis were wounded in attacks in June.
The statement says Baghdad was the worst-affected governorate with 950 civilian casualties.
More than 1,000 people were killed in violence in Iraq in May.
On July 1, police found the bodies of eight members of a pro-government Sunni militia who were killed execution-style and dumped near the town of Tarmiyah, north of Baghdad.
Officials said the men were snatched from their houses during the past two days.
