Iraq Executes 21 People For Terrorism Offenses

It has been reported that Iraqi authorities have executed 21 people found guilty of terrorism-related offences.
An unnamed Justice Ministry official said on August 28 that the executions had been carried out the previous morning.
The independent Alsumaria News website reports that three women were among those executed.
In July, London-based human rights group Amnesty International said Iraq had executed at least 70 people so far in 2012, compared with a total of 68 in 2011.
