19 Killed In Suicide Bombing Near Baghdad
November 28, 2011
Iraqi officials say a suicide car bomber has killed at least 19 people and injured 24 outside a prison north of Baghdad.
Police and hospital officials said the suicide bomber blew up an explosives-filled minibus at the entrance to the prison in Taji, some 25 kilometers north of Baghdad.
The prison is reported to hold Al-Qaeda prisoners, among other inmates.
The attack occurred when many employees and guards were on their way to work at the prison.
It is the third major attack in about a week in Iraq.
The attacks came as U.S. troops are set to leave Iraq at the end of this year.
