Brig Gen Ja’fari: Iranian, Iraqi nations’ harmony enrages US and Zionist regime

Tehran, Nov 14, IRNA -- Commander of Iran’s revolutionary guards said in a meeting with Iraqi Army joint chief of staff here Monday harmony between Iranian and Iraqi nations has envies in some neighboring countries and enrages US and Zionist regime officials.

According to the IRNA Monday Night News team the Islamic Republic of Iran Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander in Chief Brigadier General Sardar Mohammad-Ali Ja’fari in the meeting also expressed hope that the visit of this Iraqi top military official would lead to deepening and broadening the Iran-Iraq relations in general, and those between the two countries armed forces in particular.

The IRGC commander added, “Today despite the entire efforts made by the United States and Israel, which are the real enemies of both Iran and Iraq, they have not been successful in creating a gap between the two nations, the two countries, and their armed forces.”

Brigadier General Ja’fari said, “The United States was after the establishment of a government in Iraq with whose assistance it would be able to loot the capitals of that country in its own interest, but Washington faced defeat in that respect.”

He added, “It was God’s will that Saddam and his regime were demolished by the enemy of both the Iranian and the Iraqi nations, and an Islamic and popular system which is harmonized with the special culture of the Iraqi nation came to power there.”

Ja’fari also expressed hope that relying on harmony and cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries, it would be possible to ward off the threats of the enemies against Iran and Iraq, which have pretty close cultures and beliefs.

Brigadier General Ja’fari meanwhile referred to the moves made by the IRGC in combat against terrorism and the anti-revolutionary forces, including against the Pejak forces, expressing hope that Iraq, too, would as soon a possible wrap up the camp of the terrorist MKO forces, whose members are the enemies of the two nations, and deport them from their own soil.

The Head of the Iraqi Armed Forces Joint Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Babakir Zebari, too, in the meeting expressed delight over visiting Iran, arguing, “We were faced with numerous problems in Iraq, so that in the year 2003 when we began the reconstruction of our armed forces, we started the job from zero point.”

He added, “Simultaneously with the reconstruction of the army, many terrorist operations were launched against us, whose only objective was massacring the Iraqi people and shedding their blood.”

The high brass Iraqi military official said that the gradual evacuation of the US military forces from his country has not imposed any serious security status on Iraq.

General Zebari also stressed, “The Iraqi officials believe the relations between the two neighboring countries of Iran and Iraq must be established stronger and more precise than their status quo.”

** MKO members are enemies of both Iran and Iraq

The head of the Iraqi Joint Chiefs of Staff also reiterated, “The decision made on the matter is that by the end of the year 2011 the MKO members must all be evacuated from Iraq.”

Meanwhile, the Iraqi army commander said that the Iraqi forces have a desirable status and can handle their affairs successfully.

Iraq has decided to make use of Iran's invaluable experiences and broaden cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said.

A group of senior military officials have accompanied Iraqi chief of staff, who has come to Iran atop a high ranking Iraqi military delegation.

According to the report, Lieutenant General Zebari had also on Sunday had a meeting with the Commander of the IRGC Ground Forces Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour.

The Iranian commander welcomed the Iraqi delegation and expressed hope that the visit would prepare the ground for consolidation of ties between the two countries.

After withdrawal of foreign troops from Iraq, the country's Army is now in charge of national defense and security, he said.

He expressed hope that the Iraqi army would be successful to help restore law and order in the war devastated country of Iraq.

There are ample untapped political and cultural capacities in both countries, which must be utilized for expansion of all-out cooperation between Iran and Iraq, he said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is pleased to witness that all Iraqi political wings play active role in their country's developments, he said.

'We hope to witness a secure Iraq,' underlined the Iranian commander.

Ill-wishers tried to lead Iran and Iraq to strained relations but the vigilant nations thwarted all plots, he said, adding that Iran spares no efforts to help Iraq.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi army commander said that the Iraqi forces have a desirable status and can handle their affairs successfully.
