  • Iraqi and U.S. Forces Continue Push MNF-I/MNC-I 09 Oct 2004 -- Iraqi security forces, backed by elements of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, captured 13 suspected militants in the central Iraqi town of Haswah today as the joint force continued to aggressively target anti-Iraqi forces throughout Northern Babil province.
  • Iraqis and Marines Net 11 More Suspected Insurgents MNF-I/MNC-I 09 Oct 2004 -- Iraqi security forces and elements of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit captured 11 suspected insurgents today as the joint force continued its pursuit of anti-Iraqi forces in Northern Babil province.

  • Reconstruction Underway to Restore Iraqi Railroads AFPS 09 Oct 2004 -- Railroads in Iraq were a multinational construction effort long before the current restoration effort began. Railroad construction in Iraq was started in the late 1800s by imperialist Germany.
  • Iraq Reopens Military Training Academy Near Baghdad MNF-I/MNC-I 09 Oct 2004 -- The Iraqi Ministry of Defense swore in 43 cadets Oct. 7, beginning a 90-day officer training course at the Iraqi Military Academy Al Rustamiyah (IMAR) near Baghdad. The cadets are former military academy students who had finished 24 months of a planned 36-month training course under the old regime.
  • Iraqis Take Over Training Role MNF-I/MNC-I 09 Oct 2004 -- More than 300 people became Iraq's newest Iraqi National Guard members after completion of a 13-day boot camp. With the graduating class of 04-07, Iraq took one step closer to its complete independence as Multi-National Forces transferred responsibility of the ING Academy to the command of the ING at ceremonies held here, Oct 7.
