- IRAQ AIR STRIKES VOA 09 Sep 2004 -- U.S. forces in Iraq have carried out more attacks in areas of the country controlled by insurgents, including what they say is a hideout used by supporters of suspected terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. The stepped up activity in Iraq's Sunni triangle follows what the Pentagon says have been increasingly sophisticated attacks by insurgents that have left nearly 20 Americans dead this week alone.
- ISF AND MULTI-NATIONAL FORCES CONTINUE OPERATIONS IN TAL AFAR CENTCOM 09 Sep 2004 -- Operations in Tal Afar continue today, as Iraqi Security forces and Multi-National Forces work to remove the terrorist threat that has forced hundreds of people from their homes.
- IRAQI SECURITY FORCES, MULTI-NATIONAL FORCES INITIATE OPERATIONS IN TAL AFAR CENTCOM 09 Sep 2004 -- Multi-National Forces and Iraqi Security forces initiated operations to restore control of Tal Afar to legitimate Iraqi government officials. The operation comes after MNF and Iraqi Security forces were repeatedly attacked by a large terrorist element that has displaced local Iraqi Security forces throughout the recent weeks.
- ISF, MULTI-NATIONAL FORCES DETAIN SIX, FOIL ROADSIDE BOMB, COLLECT WEAPONS CENTCOM 09 Sep 2004 -- Iraqi Security forces and Multi-National Forces from the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team) detained six people suspected of anti-Iraqi activities, foiled a roadside bomb attack and discovered a variety of weapons and munitions Sept. 9 in northern Iraq.
- IRAQI SECURITY FORCES, MULTI-NATIONAL FORCES - IRAQ ENTER SAMARRA CENTCOM 09 Sep 2004 -- Iraqi Security Forces partnered with Multi-National Forces and entered Samarra at about 10 a.m. Sept. 9 to reseat the city council leadership and conduct an assessment of the police stations.
- Nearly 20 Killed In Fighting In Tal Afar, Al-Fallujah RFE/RL 09 Sep 2004 -- Doctors in the northern Iraqi town of Tal Afar say at least 17 people were killed overnight and more than 50 wounded in fighting between insurgents and U.S. and Iraqi forces.
- Marines, Soldiers team up to battle insurgents, destroy weapons cache USMC News 09 Sep 2004 -- Following an insurgent improvised explosive device attack on coalition forces here Sept. 3, Marines and Soldiers killed two insurgents and captured four others during operations to destroy a suspected weapons cache.
