France opposes to US stance toward JCPOA: Le Drian

Tehran (ISNA) - French foreign minister met with secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran on Monday, discussing the ways of improving bilateral ties, regional issues and international security.
During the meeting with French foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani welcomed the expansion of political and economic relations between Iran and France, urging the need for removing the remain barriers to banking transactions in post- Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) era.
Shamkhani stated, "The logic of any international deal is to protect every parties and the international community and urging one side to comply with commitments and ignoring the other side that violates the obligations is not acceptable".
Urging to accelerate the full implementation of the European parties' commitments to JCPOA, he added, "Failure of the JCPOA lead to fail the international credit and the logic of conversation for solving the world issues. European policy to grant US some privileges in return to maintain the country in the JCPOA is incorrect and it means surrendering to psychological game by Donald Trump".
Pointing to Iran`s attempts to fight against terrorism in Iraq and Syria, Mr. Shamkhani underlined, "If the Islamic Republic of Iran didn't participate in the costly confrontation with terrorism, that could have made the uncontrollable escalation of the crisis and the development of insecurity and instability in Europe, including France".
Mentioning to the free activities of terrorist groups opposed to Iran in France, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran expressed, "Lack of confrontation with these groups by Paris, is in contradiction with the international responsibility of France to fight against terrorism and certainly does not improve the relations between two countries".
Expressing the reinforcement of Iran's defense capability especially missile force as an inevitable urgency to implement the deterrence policy, he added, "Iran`s defense power is not a threat to any country and improving it does not have any influence from political component and it is according to security needs and potential threats".
He stressed that the recent resolution has been suggested by some European countries about Yemen was very disappointing and expressed, "Ignoring the vast blockage of Yemeni people and the extensive outbreaks of famine and disease in the country represents the double standard policy in some European countries and the US".
Referring to the recent political and field achievements in Syria as a result of establishment and activities of its legal government, he added, "In case of stopping supportive attitude toward the opposition and armed terrorists and pursuing the trend of Syria – Syria conversation, stability and peace will return to the country".
French foreign minister, for his turn, expressed his satisfaction to travel to Iran and stated, "I am familiar with Iran`s history, power and abilities and believe that in the post-JCPOA era there is a clear perspective in political and economic relations between the two countries".
"I praise the Islamic Republic of Iran for its compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal and emphasize that all parties should comply with their commitments and Paris opposes to US stance toward the JCPOA that can lead to failure of the international accord, " he added.
Pointing to the efforts of French and the other European countries in regard to facilitate banking transactions with Iran, Le Drian stated, "In near future new approaches will be announced in order to improve the banking transaction process between Iran and France".
