Velayati: Iran's missile program aimed for self-defense
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, March 1, IRNA -- Head of the Center for Strategic Research Center of Iran's Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati said on Wednesday that Iran's missile program is solely aimed at self-defense.
Speaking to reporters, Velayati said that Iran will not seek anyone's permission for defending itself.
"It is none of the US business how we defend ourselves," the official said.
"We have to be self-sufficient in defending ourselves and one important means of defense is missile."
Iran will not succumb under pressure and will test-fire other missiles if deemed necessary based on its planned goals, Velayati said.
