Iran's deterrence power stopping US aggression: Commander
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Sept 24, IRNA -- Iran's deterrence power has prevented the US military aggression against the Islamic Republic, says Brigadier General Hossein Salami, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps second-in-command.
If Iran did not have military power, big powers, including the United States could occupy the country.
Today, as long as the country's balance of power is concerned, the Islamic Republic of Iran has the upper hand over the enemies, he added.
The commander also said that Iran has full information about the enemies' strategic interests and Tehran is capable of confronting its enemies anywhere from the Eastern Mediterranean region to the heart of the mainland Iran.
Due to the country's defensive power and guidelines of the Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iran remains to be a stable country in a volatile region, Salami said.
