Navy 40th flotilla returns home, ending 55-day mission

Bandar Abbas, Hormuzgan, June 1, IRNA – The 40th flotilla of Iran's Navy returned home Wednesday after ending its 55-day mission to the remote waters.

The flotilla was welcomed by Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari in this southern Iranian port.

The mission of the Iranian flotilla was to execute the Supreme Leader's orders, preserve the country's interests in the free waters, wave Iranian flag in the international waters, foil Iranophobia projects, fight against pirates and provide security for shipping lines.

Also, the Iranian flotilla was carrying message of peace and friendship to the world.

It attended a joint exercise with naval forces of India as well.

Coincident with this return, the 41st Iranian flotilla started an international mission after being seen off by Navy commanders.
