IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, March 10, IRNA -- Scores of fast boats developed by Iran's Defense Ministry Marine Industries Organization, have been delivered to the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) naval force.
In the Ceremony on Thursday in the port city of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran, attended by Minister of Defense Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan and other Iranian military officials, the large batch of indigenously-made speed boats, including Ashura-class small boats, Zolfaghar-class fast assault boats and a rescue sea patrol were delivered to the IRGC naval forces.
General Dehghan in comments reiterated the urgent need for the Islamic Republic's defense forces to boost their defensive and military abilities.
'The large number of speed boat assault vessels, including Ashura and Zolfaghar and the rescue sea patrol delivered to the IRGC naval forces, are all the result of the efforts made by our devoted and glorious experts in the Defense Ministry Marine Industries Organization,' he said.
'Iran's military doctrine,' the defense minister said, 'is based on deterrence.'
'Iran's military power does not pose a threat against any country, and it guarantees peace, stability and security,' the brigadier general said.
'Only the aggressors should be wary of our military power,' he said.
