US Secretary of State John Kerry says Washington, its negotiating partners, and Iran are all "hopeful" to reach a comprehensive nuclear agreement.
"We have a lot of hard work to do. We have some very tough issues, and I think we all look forward to getting down to the final effort here to see whether or not a deal is possible," Kerry told reporters in the Austrian capital, Vienna, on Saturday.
"I think that everybody would like to see an agreement, but we have to work through some difficult issues," he said.
Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – Russia, China, France, Britain and the US -- plus Germany are holding talks in Vienna to finalize the text of a possible deal over Iran's nuclear program by the end of this month.
Kerry met with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday following their meeting on Saturday.
Zarif also told reporters on Saturday that hard work is needed to nail down a final deal.
"We're determined to do everything we can in order to be able to get to this important milestone," Zarif said.
During a speech on Saturday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reiterated the peaceful nature of the country's nuclear program, saying the Islamic Republic has never sought atomic bombs.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran has never been and will never be after building destructive and inhumane weapons," he said.
