Army ground forces launch major wargames

Tehran, May 21, IRNA -- Ground forces of Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran initiated major warmages across the country on Thursday.
The drills dubbed 'Beit ol-Moqaddas 27' will continue for a week in three geographical parts of the country.
Troops of the ground forces, as well as armored forces, artillery units, rapid deployment units, commandos and rangers and aviation service of the ground forces are involved in the high magnitude maneuvers.
Brigadier General Ahmadreza Pourdastan, the commander of the Army ground forces told IRNA that the newest equipment and weapons of the Army are set to operate and testfire.
Pourdastan said that Army forces will exercise the advanced tactics to counter proxy wars underway in the region.
He said Beit ol-Moqaddas 27 drills are being staged after Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces Ayatollah Khamenei assigned the Army to get prepared to combat proxy wars underway in the region.
The Supreme Leader expressed deep concern about the Saudi war of aggression on Yemen killing or maiming several thousand civilians, women and children by indiscriminate bombardment on Yemen.
There are substantive evidences that the Saudi leaders have perpetrated crimes against humanity in Yemen and Iran called on the International Criminal Court to bring to justice the Saudi leaders for the cold-blood murders and war crimes against innocent people of Yemen.
