Iranian Navy flotilla docks in Omani port

TEHRAN (ISNA)- The 30th Flotilla of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Navy docked in Omani Salalah Port.

'The 30th Flotilla of the forces docked in Salalah Port, Oman, a few hours ago,' said Manger of Public Relations Department of Iranian Navy Alireza Hamedi.

'The 30th flotilla of the forces mightily rescued an Iranian oil tanker in Yemeni and Omani coasts after conflicts with pirates,' said Iranian Navy Commander Habibollah Sayyari.

He added that the pirates were on 9 boats equipped with light and semi-heavy arms and intended to steal the Iranian tanker but they were forced to flee after presence of the Iranian flotilla in right time.

'This is the 4th confrontation between the Iranian Navy's Flotilla with pirates in high seas in three of which they successfully rescued Iranian vessels and an Indian vessel attacked by pirates.'
