Army well-prepared to thwart threats to territorial integrity: Commander

Tehran, June 15, IRNA -- The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran command council is carefully considering the latest international and regional developments and well-prepared to thwart any threat to territorial integrity, Deputy Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Forces Brigadier General Kiumars Heydari said on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a local ceremony, he noted that Irans army ground forces is in full combat alert to thwart the menace of terrorism including the terror operations being carried by Daesh terrorist group on the Iranian neighborhood, Iraq.
Heydari said that currently there is no potential threat to the Iranian borders.
He asserted that Muslim states should take a lesson from the ongoing developments in Iraq and Syria and exercise vigilance towards the enemies conspiracies.
The commander warned that the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran will give crushing response to any possible attack on the Iranian borders.
On Saturday, President Hassan Rouhani warned of Irans tough battle with the Daesh terrorist group if it wished to take provocative actions near the Iranian borders.
