IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Aug 7, IRNA -- Iran would not refuse talks but at the same time it considers sanctions as a non-military and soft invasion, Chief of Staff of Iranˈs Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said Wednesday.

He reiterated that as the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has stressed, Tehran will never refuse negotiations.

The major general made the remarks while commenting on the new US sanctions against Iran imposed on the country at the time the new government of President Hassan Rohani has just sworn-in.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a local meeting in Tehran, Firouzabadi said, acting like devil was in the US nature.

He added that Tehran has not expected Washington to act otherwise.
