Larijani: Iran's policy aims to promote peace, stability in region

Tehran, Dec 23, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said that Iran pursues the policy of peace and stability in the region and in Sri Lanka.
In a meeting with the Sri Lankan Justice Minister Raouf Hakim, he expressed pleasure with the growing trend of mutual cooperation, especially in the field of implementing economic development projects in the country.
He noted that Ianian great capabilities in the various fields of economy, technology will prepare the ground for Sri Lanka's progress and development.
Majlis will support any move in the field, Larijani said.
He termed strengthening parliamentary ties as significant, and said that parliamentary cooperation can help remove the obstacles in the way of expanding bilateral ties and identifying new capacities in various fields.
Hakim, for his part, described his talks with the Iranian political and judicial officials as constructive and added that his country attaches special significance to developing all-out cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Appreciating Iran for its humanitarian aid to Sri Lanka, he further noted that Sri Lanka will never forget Iran's supports.
He called for boosting diplomatic shuttles and said that development of economic and commercial cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran is very important for his country.
