Commander: No sanction can block Iran's progress

Tehran, Dec 2, IRNA -- Commander of of the Army Ground Forces Brigadier General Hamid Reza Pourdastan said on Sunday no sanction can halt the progress of Islamic Iran while it has made great achievements in science and technology in recent years.
He made the remarks in a morning flag hoisting ceremony of the ground forces in Tehran.
Pourdastan said Iran will achieve significant victories in near future and therefore no sanction or embargo can paralyze the strong Iran.
He said Iranians managed to show their firm resistance during the 8-year imposed war imposed on the country by Iraq with the support of western powers, defending their homeland without losing even an inch of their territory.
Pointing to imposition of new sanctions in recent months by the West, the commander said the brave Iranian people are not afraid of any threats thanks to the wise leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
