Amano: IAEA determined to resolve Iranís nuclear case

Tehran, Nov 11, IRNA -- Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano said that IAEA will play a key role in resolving the current deadlock between the Western powers and Iran over the latters nuclear program.

“I am fully convinced that IAEA has the capability for playing a key role in resolving Iran’s nuclear issue through diplomatic channels,” he said.

He made the remarks in a joint meeting with the Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari in Baghdad on Sunday.

Amano expressed optimism about the continuation of talks between Iran and IAEA.

On Friday, IAEA announced that it will dispatch a team of experts to Iran to hold talks with Iranian nuclear experts on December 13.
