Naval power, cause of Iran's strength, Navy commander

Khorramshahr, Khuzestan Prov, April 29, IRNA -- Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said here on Sunday that naval power is the main cause of the Islamic Republic’s strength.
Addressing a ceremony commemorating the National Day of the Persian Gulf in this southwestern province, he expressed hope that the world nations can witness Iran's position in the world and region.
Sayyari said there are eight waterways in the world which are important for the marine trade, out of which four are close to the Iranian waters.
He then referred to the Strait of Hormuz in south of Iran that plays key role in the international trade exchanges.
He reiterated that Iran’s naval forces have proved their capability to provide regional security.
