IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, April 23, IRNA -- Deputy commander of Army's ground forces for coordinative affairs Brigadier-General Ali Arasteh said on Monday that the trans-regional forces are doomed.
He told IRNA that the trans-regional forces have come to the region under pretext of providing security for the countries of the region, whereas, they have become the cause of instability.
Arasteh said that the governments of regional countries are capable of securing stability in the region.
He said that trans-regional forces have no bright future and that they will never achieve their goals in the region.
'Under the current circumstances, they have desperate situation in Iraq and Afghanistan. So, they will never open another front for hostility in the region.'
He said that the trans-regional forces have got to know that their continued presence in the region will have no benefit for them.
Brigadier-General Arasteh said that the US and other trans-regional powers have suffered a defeat in Iraq and their presence in Afghanistan is nearing its end.
He said that media reports indicated that the trans-regional forces including officers, soldiers and commanders have no incentive to remain in Iraq and Afghanistan.
'The US and other trans-regional powers are looking for a way-out from Iraq and Afghanistan and a justification for their return home. The politicians are not ready to admit such a heavy responsibility in this respect.'
He gave assurances that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran especially the ground forces of the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps are well-prepared to defend the country against any malevolent attempt.
He said that the trans-regional forces are spreading Islamophobia but they will achieve nothing.
'They are working hard to destroy Islam. They have begun their ill designs from Syria and will go elsewhere and they have ultimately targeted Iran.'
