Ashton says 5+1 carries new strategy in ongoing talks with Iran

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, April 14, IRNA -- The European Union Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton said the 5+1 will appear in the nuclear talks in Istanbul with a new strategy.

She made the remark in her meeting with Iran’s Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili in Istanbul Friday night.

The meeting was held a day before the start of the fresh talks between Iran and the P5+1 (the United States, Britain, Russia, China and France plus Germany) on Iran's nuclear program.

The Iranian top nuclear negotiator hoped the 5+1 could gain the confidence and trust of the Iranian nation.

Iran enters the Saturday nuclear talks with a constructive spirit defending Iran’s rights, stressed Jalili.
