Terrorists affiliated to Rigi group smashed, top commander

Tehran, April 10, IRNA -- Commander of the IRGC Ground Forces Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said a team of terrorists affiliated to the former Jondollah leader Abdolmalek Rigi was completely smashed and a number of its members were killed.
The commander said the members of the team who were the remaining elements of the terrorist group Jondollah and had entered the country from foreign countries had planned to carry out terrorist operations in public places during the new year's vacations in Iran but totally failed and the team was completely destroyed.
He noted that the team also intended to perform terrorist operations in centeral parts of Iran as well as in some border areas.
He said the plots were completely foiled thanks to the proper measures taken by the security and military forces.
He noted the a remarkable ammount of explosives and sabotage equipment were also discovered from the terrorists.
