TEHRAN (ISNA) - An Iranian senior military official said the guard forces would continue destructive and invasive operations against American counter-revolutionary PJAK group until deployment of Iraqi forces in borders.

"Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) will continue destructive and invasive operations against American counter-revolutionary PJAK group in north Iraq-Iran border until deployment of central Iraqi government and Kurdistan region's forces in border areas," the official said.

The armed forces senior official noted, “Iraqi government should deploy police and military forces across shared borders to protect the region."

"American counter-revolutionary PJAK group has been given a large land in northern Iraq for many years without permission and informing the central Iraqi government. People of the region are under pressure from the group which prevents them from their rights to use and settle near the borderline.”

“Presence and expansion of the American counter-revolutionary and terrorist group harmed the economic relations and trade deals between Iraqi and Iranian people while the two nations and the governments and even Iraqi Kurd authorities call for deepening relations in all fields."

IRGC forces killed over 50 counter-revolutionary forces, left 100 others wounded and took some others captured over recent weeks.
