Iran minister says killed student not linked to nuclear work

ISNA - Iranian Students' News Agency

TEHRAN (ISNA) - Iranian Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi said the assassinated student had not been linked to the country's nuclear program.

"We are examining the terror attempt. We have not found anything yet and there are some ambiguous and vague points behind it," he told reporters Sunday on the sidelines of cabinet meeting.

Also regarding involvement of any foreign intelligence service in the terrorist act, he said, "we have not seen any signal which demonstrates the attack had been carried out by foreign services."

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Sunday blamed "American-Zionist masterminding" the assassination of a student in Tehran, Dariush Rezaei-Nejad.

"The American-Zionist terrorist act yesterday against one of the country's scientists is yet another sign of Americans' degree of animosity," Speaker Ali Larijani told Parliament on Sunday.

Assailants riding a motorcycle shot dead Rezaei-Nejad, electronics master's student, at Tehran's Khajeh Nassir University.
