Intelligence Ministry probing academic's assassination: Moslehi

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, July 24, IRNA -- Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi said on Sunday that the assassination of Iranian post-graduate student, Dariush Rezainejad was a horrific crime which is seriously being pursued by the Intelligence Ministry.

“What is certain is that Rezainejad had nothing to do with nuclear energy. There are still some vague points in assassination of Rezainejad and we are investigating the same,” the minister said.

Asked about the crushing and dismantling of the Pjak terrorist group in Western Iran, Moslehi said that Pjak is being supported by the West and those countries who support Pjak should be accountable.

“The assassinations by foreign intelligence services are usually accompanied with a series of signs, but we have not received such signs in the case of Rezainejad,” he added.

The minister pointed out that good measures have been taken in crushing Pjak, but they only conducted some sort of activities to deceive Iran.
