Iran attacks PJAK base, kills terrorists

TEHRAN (ISNA) - Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attacked PJAK group's base, killing many members of the terrorist group.

The Commander of IRGC Air Force in northwestern town of Sardasht, Delavar Ranjbar-Zadeh said, "host of PJAK and counterrevolutionary agents were killed in clashes with IRGC."

"The group's Deputy Commander for Marvan base, the most important base of PJAK, was among the killed," he added.

Ranjbar-Zadeh continued one of PJAK member was arrested by IRGC and that, "clashes are underway with mighty acts of Iranian guard forces. The area is in full control of the Islamic Republic of Iran armed forces."

"Border areas of Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan region in the town of Sardasht are in full control of IRGC forces and what PJAK or terrorists-linked media had claimed is sheer lie,"the commander noted.

"Large numbers of Dushkas (anti-aircraft machine gun), machine guns and walkie-talkies as well as key documents belonging to the group were captured by the Iranian forces."

He added 30 PJAK members have been deployed in Marvan base since 4 years ago. noting, "3 neighboring bases lying in Iraq's territory have been helping terrorists deployed in Marvan base, but all bases are now in full control of Iranian military forces."
