Iran says it pursues, punishes PJAK terrorist cell

TEHRAN (ISNA) - The commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said pursuit and punishment of PJAK terrorist cell would continue.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Ground Force Commander, Mohammad Khakpoor said on Monday, "IRGC in clashes with PJAK terrorist group in northwestern Iran caused deadly blows to them to establish the peace in the area."
The commander added, "the IRGC in deterrent operations confronted toughly PEJAK terrorist group which had occupied parts of northwestern Iran, conspired against our nation and endangered security of people. It destroyed the headquarters of this group, killing, injuring and capturing host of its members."
PJAK terrorist network members-- an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) – have been frequently involved in armed clashes with Iranian security forces across Iran's western borders with Iraqi Kurdistan region.
