Salehi: Iran never gives up its nuclear rights

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Vienna, July 12, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran will never give up its legitimate nuclear rights while remaining committed to its international commitments.

Salehi made the remark at a joint press conference with his Austrian counterpart and Deputy Chancellor Michael Spindelegger on Tuesday.

Iran’s nuclear dossier has exhausted all, Salehi said, adding that Iran has officially declared that it is committed to its pledges with regards to NPT as well as IAEA charter and persists in its legitimate rights.

“We will never give up our legitimate rights and remain committed to our pledges,” he said.

Referring to his talks with IAEA director general and his Austrian counterpart, Salehi said 'The two sides showed good-will and we should pave our path more speedily within the frameworks of the agreements singed by the two sides.'

Salehi said no country in the world can claim that its human rights conditions are ideal, Salehi said.

“We never claimed that the status of human rights in our country is perfect but we insist that we never hesitate to help upgrade the status of human rights,” he said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to help upgrade the status of human rights, Salehi said.
