FM: Iran-IAEA ties in best possible level

Tehran, July 11, IRNA -- Foreign Minister, Ali-Akbar Salehi, said on Monday that the Iran-IAEA relations are in the best possible level.
Indicating Iran’s ever readiness to negotiate with the IAEA, Salehi told a press conference with his Slovenian counterpart, Samoel Ojboogar, in Lubliana, capital of Slovenia, on Monday that the IAEA inspectors are now in Iran to monitor the Iranian nuclear instalations.
Salehi, who is to meet the IAEA Director General, Y. Amano in Vienna on Tuesday, reiterated that Iran, that is a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), is committed to all its NPT commitments.
He pointed out that Iran has previously suggested a disarmament convetion to that IAEA as Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah seyyed Ali Khamenei, has always been opposing production and and collection of the nuclear weapons as an illegal act.
To a question on recent anti-Iran claims of the US Defense Secretary, Leon E. Panetta , Salehi said that during the last 30 years American officials have been hostile to Iran, and we do not consider the US to be a yardstick for right or wrong.
