Amano: No difference on continued dialogue with Iran
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Vienna, June 24, IRNA -- The IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano on Friday welcomed dialogue with Iran, saying there is no difference of opinion on continuation of dialogue and talks with Iran.
Addressing a press conference in Vienna after the IAEA Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Safety, Amano said he supported dialogue with Iran.
He added that naturally there are far differences on substantive issues related to enforcement of safeguards and other subjects as the UN Security Council and the IAEA Board’s resolutions.
On his meeting with Head of Iran Atomic Energy Organization, Fereydoun Abbassi Davani, Amano said he had the opportunity to meet Abbassi on the sidelines of the IAEA conference after he was elected to the post.
He said in the talks Abbassi had invited him to pay an official visit to Tehran and that he would study the offer at an appropriate time.
