IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, June 15, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Wednesday refuted as unfounded the “repeated claims and accusations” leveled against Iran by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC).
Mehmanparast said such claims are aimed at diverting world public opinion from military actions of certain regional states in reponse to the legitimate and legal demands of their nations and interference in the internal affairs of neighboring states.
Stressing that maitaining the security of the Persian Gulf is of great importance and a priority for the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mehmanparast criticized the media of certain regional states for their destructive role in dividing nations and fanning animosity.
Such measures will by no means serve the stability and security of the region but on the contrary will divert attentions from main dangers posed by the Zionist regime, he concluded.
